Your update on the state of e-waste, tips to make your electronics last longer, and much more.

Hello Re-Circuit Community,

We’re back! This time with some current events. We promise to keep things light and informative, delivering you the latest and greatest in the world of electronics recycling without cluttering your inbox. Thank you for being a valued part of our community and for your commitment to making a positive environmental impact.

What’s Inside?

Each month, we’ll bring you news on electronics recycling, trends in electronic waste, tips on how to extend the life of your devices, the importance of electronic repairs, and much more. Our goal is to keep you engaged and informed about the ever-evolving landscape of electronics and sustainability.

This Month’s Highlight: Generative AI and Electronic Waste

In recent news, generative AI is making waves across various industries. A recent article from Yahoo Finance (https://finance.yahoo.com/news/generative-ai-could-cause-10-160100528.html) discussed the implications of AI advancements, including their potential impact on demand for electronic hardware. While AI is bound to continue to bring exciting progress, it’s crucial to also consider its environmental impact, particularly the potential for increased electronic waste.

As AI technologies advance, there’s a growing demand for more sophisticated hardware to support these systems. This demand leads to shorter lifespans for existing devices as businesses and consumers alike upgrade to more powerful and capable machines. The result? An increase in electronic waste as older devices are discarded to make way for new technology.

This surge in e-waste underscores the importance of responsible recycling and repair practices. At Re-Circuit, we’re committed to providing solutions that help mitigate the environmental impact of electronic waste. By recycling and refurbishing old devices, we can reduce the strain on our environment and ensure that valuable materials are reused, rather than ending up in landfills.

This Month’s Highlight: How to Keep Devices Running Longer

Technology isn’t cheap, so getting the most out of your devices is key. Whether you’re using a smartphone, tablet, or another device, small habits can make a big difference in performance and longevity. Here are a few easy ways to keep your devices running like new:

1. Clear Unnecessary Files & Apps
+ Regularly delete unused apps to free up storage and improve performance.
+ Clear cache and temporary files in settings to prevent slowdowns.
+ Move photos, videos, and large files to cloud storage or an external drive to free up space.

2. Keep Software & Apps Updated
+ Updates fix bugs, improve security, and enhance performance—so don’t ignore them!
+ Enable automatic updates or check for updates manually to stay current.
+ Restart your device occasionally to refresh system processes and clear memory.

3. Optimize Battery & Performance Settings
+ Limit background app activity to reduce unnecessary battery drain.
+ Adjust screen brightness and use battery-saving modes to extend battery life.
+ Keep your device in a cool environment and avoid overcharging to prevent overheating.

By following these simple steps, you’ll keep your devices running faster, more efficiently, and for longer—helping you save money and reduce electronic waste in the process!

Hello Re-Circuit Community,

Did you know we regularly host community recycling events to make it even easier for you to recycle your old electronics? While anyone is always welcome to recycle items directly at our shop, these events bring the convenience to you. And this month, we’ve got two great opportunities for you to join us and clear out your unwanted tech!

As always, thank you for being part of the Re-Circuit community. Your support helps us keep electronic waste out of landfills and supports a more sustainable future.

What’s Inside?

Each month, we share something from our bag of useful tips, industry news, or event updates to help you stay informed and engaged in the world of electronics recycling. This month, we’re highlighting two public recycling events you can attend—and how you or your organization can host one too!

You’re Invited: Two Recycling Events This April!

We’re hitting the road again with our recycling truck—and individuals and businesses alike are welcome to stop by and drop off old electronics for safe, secure, and responsible recycling.

📍 Saturday, April 26

Triangular Processing

550 W Linfoot St, Wauseon, OH

🕘 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

📍 Sunday, April 27

Little Blessings Veteran Community Outreach

5725 Sterns Rd, Ottawa Lake, MI

🕚 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM

Here’s what you can expect at both events:

✔ Free recycling for nearly all electronics

✔ Secure on-site hard drive destruction

✔ Free certificate of destruction for any data-bearing devices

✔ Learn more about our two fantastic host locations and what they do for their communities

📺 Note: Due to the cost of processing screens, TVs and monitors are accepted at $0.70 per pound. All other electronics are recycled completely free of charge.

Want to Host a Recycling Event?

These events are a fantastic way to give back to your community, bring people to your organization, and promote sustainability. If you’re a school, business, nonprofit, or just a community-minded individual—you can host a Re-Circuit recycling event too!

We’ll bring the truck, the team, and everything needed to make it a success. Just reach out if you’re interested and we’ll work with you to set it up!
